September’s Mission Offering Is Habitat for Humanity of Somerset County

Habitat for Humanity—A Hand Up, Not A Hand Out

Our local Habitat chapter continues to be active in our county, partnering with volunteers and low income families to achieve the dream of home ownership.  Over the years, a number of our members have volunteered for Habitat, helping house families throughout Somerset County.  According to Habitat for Humanity’s website, their mission statement embodies a life-giving spirit: Habitat for Humanity believes that everyman, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.  We are please to continue our partnership with Habitat for Humanity!
