Church Council Update: Worship in January

January 6, 2021

Church News, Community Ministry

St. Paul’s Church Council held a special meeting on Monday, January 4th to set the worship schedule for the upcoming weeks.  Council carefully considered the current COVID-19 data in Somerset County, physician advice from within the congregation, the continuing increase in hospitalizations in our local hospitals, and the anticipation of a post holiday surge in COVID-19 infections, similar to the one we saw following Thanksgiving and decided to continue the current pause of in-person worship gatherings through January 31st.  This difficult decision was made in the interest of trying to care for our church members, while also being a good neighbor by limiting events that could lead to the further spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated as we continue to navigate through these trying and unprecedented times.  Please say some special prayers for the members and friends of our church family who have been sickened with the virus over the last couple of months.  Our faith tradition teaches us that the God who gave sight to the blind and empowered the lame to walk is also on our side, healing and restoring us.  May the saving work of the Great Physician, Jesus, our Lord, protect us, our church, and community.  As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything.  My number is 279-5504.  I look forward to our time of worship online and over the phone.  Please stay safe and be well!

Blessings,

Pastor Matt
