St. Paul’s Continuing Care Community is May’s Mission Offering:  St. Paul’s, historically related to the United Church of Christ, has been serving the needs of residents of western Pennsylvania and the surrounding states for 137 years.  Our congregation has a history of supporting the mission of St. Paul’s Continuing Care Community.  Through our continued support of St. Paul’s mission, we are realizing Jesus Christ’s call to love God and neighbor.  Please give generously.

St. Paul’s Youth Attend the Eastern Regional Youth Event

We need your help!

United Church of Christ Youth from Maryland to Maine will gather this summer at California University of PA for the North East Youth Event.

Your help is needed to assist our members (10, so far!) in getting to the youth event.

Along with their Christmas candy fundraiser, youth will also be having a coffee house in May to help pay for their trip.

Our custom as a tithing church is to assist our youth through being good stewards of our gifts.  If you’d like to give a scholarship gift to help pay for our youth to attend this summers event, please note Youth Event and the amount on your offering envelope.  The registration cost is $350 per person, with each family contributing $50 toward the effort.  Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated!

Faith Formation Class Schedule for the remainder of the term

The Christian Education Classes that meet on Sunday, will continue with their current schedule until the conclusion of the term on Pentecost Sunday, May 20th.

The Children’s and Youth Choirs will rehearse together from 10:00am-10:30am.

Grades 1-3 will meet following Choir rehearsal until 11:15am.

Their term will conclude with an all-church celebration on Pentecost Sunday, May 20th.

Coffeehouse Talent Showcase and Art Walk

Join us for a celebration of art and performance to support our youth attending the Regional Youth Event this summer. Local performers of all ages will dazzle us with their skills, and artwork will be on display for all to enjoy.

Where? In Fellowship Hall

When? Friday, May 18th, beginning at 7 pm

How can you get involved in this great event? Come out to enjoy the performances and/or perform in the show yourself. We are seeking anyone who has a skill to showcase and original artwork to display. If you’re a little stage-shy, you can also support the event by donating baked goods, which will be sold during the coffeehouse. We are also seeking donations of bottled water and/or juice boxes to serve at the event.

Admission is by donation and includes coffee, tea, and other light refreshments. We hope to see you there!

Special Things Planned for Worship In May

Please be sure to join us for worship during the month of May.  We have crafted a number of exciting worship services in the month ahead!  On May 6, partake in Holy Communion and enjoy great music by the Chancel Choir and our own Angie Richards and Josh Brumbaugh.  Violin and Trombone music will accompany congregational singing and special selections.  On May 13, is Mother’s Day and the Celebration of the Christian Home.  Our youth will be the worship leaders. Pentecost is May 20.  Wear Red!!  Kari Hostetter, our guest trumpeter, will enhance worship with her musical gifts and our Children’s and Youth Choir and Chancel Choir will conclude their seasons with a joint anthem.  Our annual Memorial Day observance will take place during worship on May 27th.
